Carol L. Spears

Carol L. (Verdin) Spears 1943-2014 CHICOPEE- Carol L. (Verdin) Spears, 71, died peacefully on December 24, 2014 in Baystate Medical Center. She was born in Chicopee, a daughter of the late Lee and Alice (Lyons) Verdin. Carol was retired, having served for many years as a dedicated bus driver for Pioneer Valley Transit Authority, and for several years prior, driving for King Ward Coach Lines. She loved reading, knitting, and entertaining with good food and the company of her dearest friends and family. Carol was the matriarch of her family, �the glue that kept us so close to one another.� She is predeceased by her son Ralph Twining. Carol is survived by her loving partner of 32 years, John T. Garczynski Sr.; her four sons, Mark, William and James Twining; her daughter Suzanne Gravel; two brothers, Allen Wajda and his wife Patricia and Gary Wajda and his wife Debbie; and a sister Claire Hammer and her husband Robert. She will be remembered by her nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and several precious nieces and nephews. In keeping with her wishes, no service is to be held.
