Springfield Athenea Maria DaCosta, 35, passed away Saturday January 9, 2021. Born in Lousiana to Maria DaCosta and the late Elton Kepney, she was a longtime area resident. Athenea worked in food service for many years and loved shopping, being outside and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by her mother, Maria DaCosta of Chicopee; her son, Dandrae DaCosta; two daughters, Tatyana and Leasia Villegas; her aunt, Mary Derosia of Chicopee; uncles, Jimmy Leal of New Mexico and Johnny Barsky of AZ and by several dear friends including Will and Andrea Villegas.
Because of the current restrictions on gatherings, family and friends are invited to meet for a walk-through visitation on Friday January 15, 2021 from 4:00 – 6:00 pm. A service will be held at 5:30 pm in the funeral home. While inside the funeral home, masks or facial covering must be worn at all times.
