Anthony Arnez Smith

Anthony Arnez Smith known to many as "Smitty", beloved son, father, and grandfather, was called home on Sunday, May 1, 2022, at the age of 50.
Born on March 21, 1972, in Athens, GA, son of Ernest and Dorothy (Hull) Smith, he was a longtime resident of Springfield.
He was a graduate of Roger L. Putnam Vocational High School in Springfield. He later went on to become a licensed Barber. If anyone knew Anthony, they'd know he loved his slushies and loved to joke around. He loved his music, had a passion for cutting hair, and enjoyed family cookouts. In his free time, he loved to play cards and video games, his favorite being 2K.
Although he has a huge family and lots of friends, Anthony is predeceased by his sister LaKyna Smith. He leaves to cherish his memory his parents, Ernest and Dorothy Smith of Springfield, children, Jenai Smith, Cheyenne Smith, Anthony Smith, and A’Naya Smith all of Springfield, grandchildren, Demetrius “Trevon” Moore and Kyrie Smith, and niece, Khynia Harris of Springfield. He also leaves a host of aunts, uncles, many cousins, and friends.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday May 12th, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Oak Grove Cemetery, 426 Bay St. in Springfield. There are no calling hours. Brunelle Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
