Ann Marie Switzer

Ann Marie Switzer 1947-2011 CHICOPEE- Ann Marie (Kimel) Switzer, 64, a longtime resident of Chicopee passed away on Saturday, December 11, 2011, at Baystate Medical Center. She was born September 10, 1947, in Holyoke, the daughter of the late George Kimel and Edna Picard. Ann was educated in Chicopee Schools and graduated from Chicopee High School in 1965. She was a dedicated disability service worker for The Commonwealth of Massachusetts for 12 years; she also worked as a machine operator for many years at the Diamond Match Co. and at Smith and Wesson. Ann enjoyed listening to music, especially John Denver and completing Sudoku puzzles. Ann is a devoted wife and will be deeply missed by her husband of 30years, Wayne R. Switzer; her loving mother in law; Shirley Durand of Springfield; her three sisters in law; Cynthia Demers of CT; Sue Kimel of New York State, Patricia Orszak of Palmer, MA; her three brothers in law; Richard Switzer of Nevada; Michael Durand of Springfield, MA; and Ernest Demers of CT, MA. Ann was predeceased by her two brothers; George Kimel and Donald Kimel. She also leaves to cherish her memory, many friends, especially; Joyce Buchanan and Linda Harris both of Springfield, MA and co-workers of Bernie Ave. in West Springfield. Visiting Hours will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2011 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, with a funeral home ceremony at 6:30 PM in Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St., Chicopee, MA 01013.
