Anita Roy

ANITA ROY 1911 � 2008 CHICOPEE � Anita (Bienvenue) Roy, 97, died on Saturday, June 7th in a local nursing home. She was born in L�Ange Guardien, PQ, Canada on March 7, 1911, the daughter of the late Paul and Delia (Racicot) Bienvenue. She attended schools in Canada and was a former thirty two year Granby, MA resident, and twenty year Chicopee resident. Anita was the co-owner of the former Roy Chicken Farm in Granby. Anita was the wife of the late Lorenzo Roy, who died in 1987. She is survived by one son, Paul and his wife Geraldine of Chicopee, Two daughters, Rita Cerutti and her husband Victor, with whom she resided, of Chicopee, and Yvonne Lapierre and her husband Robert of Westfield. She also leaves her sister, Rose Ange Goyette of Canada. She will be sadly missed by twelve grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and fifteen great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Jeanne Goodreau in 1995 and two grandchildren. She was also predeceased by her brother, Jean Paul Bienvenue, and two sisters, Madeline Menard, and Rose Amande Gingras. The funeral procession will form on Thursday, June 12 at 8:45am from the Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St., followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10am at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, Springfield St., Chicopee. Burial will be in St. Rose de Lima Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are Wednesday, June 11 from 4 -8pm.
