Amy Theresa Fitzgerald

Amy Theresa (Gramarossa) Fitzgerald, 52, beloved wife of John Fitzgerald and longtime resident of Chicopee passed away on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.

Amy was born on May 8, 1973, in Springfield, MA, a daughter of Eugene and Joanne (Montagna) Gramarossa.

She was raised and educated in Springfield attending grammar school at Sacred Heart, and graduated from Cathedral High School in 1991 and later received her bachelor’s degree in special education from Jacksonville University in Jacksonville, FL.

Amy was a teacher for ten years at St. Joan of Arc School in Chicopee.

She loved to work and being around her students and sharing time with her husband, son and daughter.

Amy had many interests including watching her favorite show, Supernatural and favorite movies The Outsiders and Star Trek Voyager.

She leaves her loving husband John and children, Frank Joseph Fitzgerald and Lilly Evelina Fitzgerald all of Chicopee, father, Eugene Gramarossa of Springfield, her aunt and Godmother, Nancy M. Regan of West Springfield, uncle, Paul Gramarossa of Chicopee, and aunt, Laurie Mellow of Ft. Myers, FL, many cousins and close friends.

Amy was most recently predeceased by her mother Joanne Gramarossa in 2022.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, Nov. 20, for calling hours for Amy from 4-7 PM at Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St., Chicopee.

Family and friends will meet directly on Friday, Nov. 21, at 10 AM at St. Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan St., Chicopee, for Amy’s Mass of Christian Burial. Committal prayers and burial will follow after the Mass at St. Rose de Lima Cemetery.
