Alan James Corbiere, beloved husband of 46 years, of Sharon A. (Ford) Corbiere, and resident of Chicopee, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 15, 2022, with his family at his side at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. He was seventy-seven years old. Alan was born on July 31, 1945, in Greenfield, MA, son of Raymond J. and Shirley M. (Suhl) Corbiere. He was raised and educated in Northampton and graduated from St. Michael’s High School also in Northampton. Alan served his country honorably as a BT3 in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He began a long career as a driver with United Parcel Service that spanned over thirty-five years, before retiring from the West Springfield location as a Tractor Trailer Driver. In his younger years, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle and was a member of the former Pioneer Valley Motorcycle Club. His interests included golfing, bowling at the Bowladrome in Holyoke, deep sea fishing in Gloucester, collecting baseball cards, Nascar, and watching his two favorite football teams, the New England Patriots, and the Dallas Cowboys. Alan leaves behind his loving wife, Sharon, and son, James A. Corbiere and his wife, Jill all of Chicopee, sister, Darlene A. Sicard and her husband Donald of Southampton, mother-in-law, Phyllis Ford of Chicopee, numerous nieces and nephews, friends and his feline companion, Cracker. Family and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, October 27, for Alan’s committal service with military honors at 3 p.m. in the chapel at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St., Agawam, MA.
