    March 15, 1955 - May 9, 2011

    CHICOPEE- Yolanda Valentine, 56, a resident here passed away at Baystate Medical Center on Monday, May 9, 2011. Yolanda was born on March 15, 1955 in New York, NY to Jorge Valentine and Carmin (Ortiz) Santiago. Yolanda worked for many years at Dinn Brothers Trophies in Holyoke as an assembler. She enjoyed shopping and loved spending time with her family which she spoiled with her love and gifts. Yolanda was inseparable from her two beloved Chihuahuas, Tyson and Mydnite who miss her dearly. She was active at the Iglesia Christiana Casa de Dios in Chicopee and she carried her faith with her throughout her life�s journey. Yolanda is survived by her companion of over 40 years, Jose Martinez, Sr. of Chicopee as well as her beloved children; Carmen Lopez of South Carolina; Becky Valentine of Chicopee; Jennifer Rivera of Holyoke; her son, David Nunes of Holyoke; a brother, Dean Santiago of Holyoke; her sister, Cyndi Brown of Westfield and her aunt, Lucy Ortiz of Springfield. Yolanda will be missed by her precious grandchildren and her many, many adored nieces and nephews. She now joins a son Jose Martinez who predeceased her in eternal peace and joy. Yolanda and her family are grateful for the wonderful care that was provided to her by the staff at Chicopee Dialysis Center and all the healthcare professionals who were involved in her medical treatment. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 6-8 PM at Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St., Chicopee, MA 01013. A funeral ceremony will be celebrated on Friday, May 13, 2011 at 9 AM in Brunelle Funeral Home. The burial will follow in Forestdale Cemetery, Cabot St., Holyoke. Memorial donations can be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 129 Morgan Drive, Norwood, MA 02062.
