Vivian M. Mardeusz

Vivian Mardeusz 1925-2009 Vivian (Provost) Mardeusz, 83, of East Longmeadow, formerly of Granby, passed away on Monday May 11, 2009 in Mercy Medical Center surrounded by her family. Born in West Springfield she was the daughter of the late Victor and Alice (LaFleur) Provost. Vivian grew up in Holyoke where she attended local schools. She moved to Granby in 1959 and resided there for (44) years before moving to East Longmeadow in 2002. Vivian was a retired hat maker for the former Winfield Hat Co. of Holyoke and was a communicant of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Granby. Vivian was happiest when she was with her family and being the mother to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved going to the beach and was a gifted knitter. She enjoyed knitting afghans for her family and for those she loved. Vivian was the wife of the late Casimir Mardeusz who passed in 1990. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Carol Mardeusz of Granby, Joann Page and husband Dennis of Montgomery and Mary Ann Donovan and husband John of East Longmeadow. Vivian leaves her grandchildren, Geoffrey Donovan and wife Christie, Sarah Page and partner, Christina DeAngeles, Katherine Godfrey and husband Cory, Ian Page and wife Allison and her great grandchildren, Samantha Godfrey, Adam Godfrey, Jessica Donovan, Leah Godfrey, Theo DeAngeles Page and Jackson Page. She also leaves her sisters, Rita Paquette and late husband Gaston of Chicopee, Noella Dame and husband Robert of West Holyoke, Gloria Anderson and husband John of Friendship, SC, her brothers, Raymond Provost and wife Gertrude of Chicopee, Edward Provost and wife Jeanette of Chicopee and Richard Provost and wife Carmen of South Hadley. Vivian is also survived by her brother-in-law, Joseph Mardeusz and wife Rosalie of Holyoke, her sister-in-law, Mary Popko and late husband Charles of South Hadley and many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents she was predeceased by her siblings Alice Provost, Shirley Lipscomb, Victor Provost and Armand Provost and her late brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws, Stanley and Dorothy Mardeusz, Daniel and Helen Mardeusz and Henry and Helen Mardeusz. Funeral services will be Friday, May 15, 2009 from the Brunelle Funeral Home 811 Chicopee St., Chicopee at 8:45 a.m., followed by the Liturgy of Christian Burial in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Granby, at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Mater Dolorosa Cemetery, South Hadley. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2009 from 4 to 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Soldiers� Home in Holyoke, 110 Cherry St., Holyoke, MA 01040.
