Michael J. Gruszka 1921 � 2009 HOLYOKE � Michael J. Gruszka, 87, died Sunday, January 11, 2009 at the Holyoke Medical Center. He was born in Holyoke on June 5, 1921 to the late Stanley and Katheryn (Czekanski) Gruszka. Michael attended schools in Holyoke and served our country in the United States Army during WWII. While in the military, Mr. Gruszka earned the Good Conduct Medal and the American Theatre Campaign Ribbon. He was also a longtime parishioner of the Immaculate Conception Church in Holyoke. Michael was a lifelong proprietor of his family business, Stanley�s Market, which was located in the Flat�s section of Holyoke. Mr. Gruszka is survived by his brother, Francis S. Gruszka and his wife Pauline of Holyoke; his two sisters, Albina Obremski of Norwalk, CT and Angela St. Marie of Westfield; his niece and his six nephews. All services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions, may be made in Michael�s memory, to a charity of one�s choice.
