Linda Mary Menard

June 3, 1947 - October 21, 2015

CHICOPEE- Linda Mary (Gilman) Menard, 68 passed away at Holyoke Medical Center on Wednesday, October 21, 1015 after making a decision to end the aggressive treatment for her pain. She is now able to peacefully rest as she joins her father, George Gilman who predeceased her as well as her beloved nephew Joseph Mailhott. She is survived by her mother, Bernice (Premo) Gilman of Belchertown as well as her devoted husband Don Menard of Chicopee who remained by her side and afforded her much respite at home. She leaves behind her two sons, Brian Menard of Indian Orchard; David Menard of Chicopee and seven adored grandchildren, Brandon, Krysta, Jade, Kyle, Jaron, Aisa, and Ian Menard. Linda will be remembered fondly by her 4 great grandchildren, Camron Menard, Ryder Menard, Lillana Menard and Morgan Bezile. Born in Holyoke, MA on June 3, 1947, one of five girls, she leaves her sisters, Norma Young of Cincinatti, OH; Barbara Mailhott of Belchertown; Shirley Bigelow of Westfield; Dorothy Leitl of Chicopee and their families including many nieces, nephews and cousins. She loved animals, especially her cats and had a green thumb for her house plants. She was an avid crafter and many in her family were receipients of her crocheting work which she continued even during her illness. She worked for many years at Springfield Photo Mount Company in Holyoke and at Valley Green Incorporated. Her love of Kiss, Elvis and Led Zepplin were comforting sounds over the years and now she has walked without pain up the �Stairway to Heaven�. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, November 1, 2015 from 1-3PM at Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St., Chicopee, MA 01013 and conclude with a funeral home ceremony at 3PM.
