JOSEPH A. CUSSON SR. 1928 � 2008 CHICOPEE � Joseph A. �Joe� Cusson, Sr., 80, died at home surrounded by his beloved family on Tuesday, June 3rd. He was born in St. Albans, Vermont on May 12, 1928 the son of the late Arthur Audette and Sylvia (Longley) Audette. He attended local schools and proudly served in the U. S. Marine Corps during WWII. He was a long time Chicopee resident and was self employed as a painter and wall paper hanger. He was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan, who loved woodworking and spending time with his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of fifty two years, Lorraine J. (Girard) Cusson, four sons, Joseph Jr. of Springfield, Lawrence of Chicopee, Paul and his wife Kathy of Sunderland, and Robert and his wife Tammy of Florida, one daughter, Sandra L. Brassard and her husband Oliver of Vermont. He also leaves six brothers, and ten sisters. He will be sadly missed by seventeen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Donald A. Cusson on April 7, 2006, and daughter, Barbara J. Phillips on February 11, 1996, and two brothers. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 7 at twelve noon at the Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St., in the Willimansett section of Chicopee. A calling hour from 9am -12noon will precede the service. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
