Joan Cavette

April 21, 1939 - June 8, 2013

CHICOPEE- Joan M. (Bohnak) Cavette, 74, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Saturday June, 8, 2013. She was born in Springfield on April 21, 1939 a daughter of the late Peter and Bertha (Tremble) Bohnak, Sr. She was a graduate of Chicopee Trade School and most recently worked at the Christmas Tree Shops at the Ingleside Mall in Holyoke. Joan was a generous woman with a huge heart and spent much of her life volunteering for local charities including, VOC, Fuel Assistance Program, Food Stamp Program, Toys for Tots, Lorraine�s Soup Kitchen and various other community organizations. Joan enjoyed traveling to Foxwoods but especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and family. She is survived by her 9 children, Cherylann Cavette Bonner of AZ; Juanita Cavette of Holyoke; James of S. Hadley; Douglas, Sr. of NH; Kirk of Holyoke; Steven of FL; Lee of Chicopee; Shannon Alejandro of Chicopee; Jennifer Cavette of Chicopee; 19 adored grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She will be missed by her 2 sisters, Kathleen Stanek of Chicopee and Sandra Gewinner of Chicopee. Joan also leaves many extended family members and friends as well as her loving puppy �Meeko�. She was also predeceased by her former husband, James W. �Buddy� Cavette and three brothers, Peter Bohnak, Jr., John �Jack� Bohnak and Wayne Bohnak. Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2013 from 2-4PM at Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St., Chicopee, MA 01013 with a funeral home service at 3:30PM.
