JEANNETTE OUIMETTE 1936 � 2011 CHICOPEE- Jeannette Eva (Crochiere) Ouimette, 75, passed away on Wednesday, December 7, 2011. Jeannette was born in Holyoke on April 21, 1936 a daughter of the late Anthony and Ora (Benoit) Crochiere and educated in Holyoke Schools. She married her beloved, Jean G. Ouimette, Sr. in 1966 and the couple celebrated over 45 years together. Primarily a home maker Jeannette took great pride in raising her family. She worked for St. Luke�s� Rest Home in Springfield for many years retiring in 1991. Her love for life and tremendous spirit also brought her to assist in the Chicopee School System for several years with the special education department. Jeannette loved to sing, dance, play cards and had an extensive vocabulary. She was a communicant of the former Assumption Church, 94 Springfield Street for over 40 years. In addition to her devoted husband, Jeannette is survived by her son, Jean Jr of Chicopee; her two daughters, Linda Thompson of Chicopee; Kathy Tolpa of West Springfield; a sister, Claire MacDonald of Chicopee; six grandchildren, Gary LePage, John Tolpa, Lynette LePage, Jillian Lentini, Ashley Pietras, Amanda Ouimette; eight great grandchildren, Sarah, Alexandrea, Chad, Samantha, Autumn, Jersey, Melia and Sophia. She also leaves behind her loving nieces, nephews and extended family members as well as her beloved dog �CoCo�. Jeannette will be welcomed home by her parents, a son, William �Bill� Ouimette who died in 2002, her brother, Robert Crochiere and her son in law Charles Thompson. Visiting hours for Jeannette will be held on Sunday, December 11, 2011 from 1-4 PM at Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St., Chicopee, MA 01013. Her funeral will begin at 9:45 AM on Monday, December 12, 2011 from the funeral home and followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11AM in Holy Name Church, 94 Springfield St., Chicopee. The burial and Rite of Committal will be in Precious Blood Cemetery, at Rts. 33 and 202 in South Hadley.
