Irene I. Briere

Irene I. Briere 1926-2009 CHICOPEE- Irene Ida (Mainville) Briere, 82, of Chicopee and formerly of Springfield, entered into eternal rest on Good Friday April 10, 2009 at home. Irene was born in Holyoke on September 4, 1926 a daughter of the late William and Anna (Corriveau) Mainville. She attended Immaculate Conception School and Graduated in 1945 from Rosary High School, both in Holyoke. Irene retired from Holyoke Wire and Cable. She was a long time communicant of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, Chicopee. Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Laurence E. Briere in 2006; and a grandson, Keith Sullivan. She is survived by her children, Karen M. Sullivan of Holyoke, and Dennis P. Briere and his wife Jean of Chicopee; three grandchildren, Julie, Jenn and Jenna; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Roger Mainville of South Hadley; two sisters, Doris Paul of Chicopee and Pauline Lafleur of Hull, MA; and numerous nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to a Liturgy of Christian Burial on Saturday April 18th at 10 a.m. in Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, Chicopee St., Chicopee. Burial will be private. Irene�s family will receive relatives and friends at the visiting hours on Friday April 17th from 5-7 p.m. at the Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St., Chicopee. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children�s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
