Germaine A Chateauneuf

October 30, 1917 - June 16, 2016

Holyoke- Germaine A. Chateauneuf passed away peacefully at Mt. Saint Vincent Care Center on June 16, 2016. Germaine was born in Brunswick, Maine on October 30, 1917 and was predeceased by her beloved husband, Lionel R. Chateauneuf, on September 27, 1998. Germaine was employed at the former National Blank Book in Holyoke for 20 years and retired in 1979. Germaine�s happiest moments were when she could be of service to others. She especially enjoyed her volunteer work for the blind as a Braille transcriber in the 1980�s. She will be missed by all who knew her. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Joline Daudelin and her husband Wilfred, of Windsor Locks, CT; her son Ray Chateauneuf and his wife Joann of South Hadley, MA. She also leaves six grandchildren: Paul Daudelin, Marie Codd and her husband Tim, Michelle Spadaccini and her husband Tomme. Rob Chateauneuf and his wife Shauna, Chris Chateauneuf and his wife Alison, and Audrey Clapp and her husband Seth. She also leaves 9 great grandchildren and Jingo, a special dog that brought joy to her life. Germaine will also be missed by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. The family would like to thank the Mt Saint Vincent Care Center, especially the staff of the third floor St. Joseph unit for the compassionate care given to Germaine during her time there. They also would like to thank the staff of Mercy Life and the PACE Program of West Springfield MA. Her family will gather and receive friends on Friday, June 24, 2016 from 9:00 AM to 10:15AM at the Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St., Chicopee, MA 01013, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11AM at St. Anne�s Church, 30 College St, Chicopee MA. The burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, South Hadley MA.
