Gerard Roy 1917 � 2009 Chicopee � Gerard Roy, 92, died on Saturday, May 23 in a local nursing home. He was born in St. Camille, PQ, Canada on May 6, 1917, a son of the late Camille and Georgina (Dendanneau) Roy. He attended school in Canada and came to the United States in 1957 where he was a fifty two year Willimansett resident. He was a self employed carpenter who was well known for his work in the area. He was a communicant of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church. He was predeceased by his wife, Bella P. (Barriere) Roy, who died on February 12, 2000. He is survived by two sons, John and his wife Mary of Chicopee, and Lionel of North Carolina. He will be sadly missed by six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Pierrette �Perry� Amlaw in 1984, his brother, Emile Roy, and sister, Alda Beaudoin. Funeral services are Thursday, May 28 at 9am from the Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St. followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10am at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church. Burial will follow in St. Rose de Lima Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are Wednesday, May 27 (TODAY) from 4 � 7pm.
