George J. Bergeron

Chicopee- George J. Bergeron, 77, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2016. He was born in Chicopee, MA on July 14, 1939 a son of the late George F. and Viola Kathleen (Follansbee) Bergeron. He was educated in the Chicopee Schools and Chicopee Vocational High School. George owned Surbaban Auto Service and Sales for several years; he worked for 23 years at Savage Arms as an Assembler and Setup Man, and retired from Spalding�s after 14 years as a Glebar Setup man. In his spare time George enjoyed motorcycling, flying General Aviation Aircraft and later radio control airplanes. He was also president of the SPARKS radio control fly club. George was the area rep. and state director of the Goldwing Motorcycle Association. He was a member of Mt tom amateur repeater association for 20 years. During his retirement he ran Buns on Wheel�s food service at the Hadley flea market, and especially enjoyed his RV trips to Florida with his wife Chris and spending time with his family. George was predeceased by his wife of 55 years Christine (Searles) Bergeron in 2013 and a daughter Donna Brignoli. He will be missed by his three children, George C. Bergeron and his wife Valerie, of Pompano Beach, FL; Patricia Ann Bergeron of Chicopee, MA; Joanne Twiss and her husband Guil of Pittsfield, MA; his grandchildren Keri Bergeron, Angelo Brignoli, Dominic Brignoli, and Martina Bergeron, his siblings David Bergeron, John Bergeron, Henry Bergeron, and Suzanne Westcott. He was also predeceased by a brother Charles Blair. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 from 9:30AM- 11AM at the Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee Street, Chicopee, MA 01013 and will conclude with a funeral home service at 11AM.
