CHICOPEE- Ed Trznadel, 80, passed away just a day after celebrating his 80th birthday at his home. He was born in Chicopee on November 15, 1936 a son of the late Frank and Mary (Bielinski) Trznadel and was educated in Chicopee Schools. Ed was a steam fireman for over 22 years and worked for UMASS retiring in 2001. He also owned and operated Walters Market in Westfield for over 22 years with his wife Lorette. Ed was a member of the Elks Lodge # 1849 and the Moose Lodge # 1849. He enjoyed Polka music and played the drums with several area polka bands over the years. He was a past communicant of St. Anne�s Church and currently active at St. Rose de Lima Parish. Ed was predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Lorette R. (Denoncourt) Trznadel on November 11, 2012. Ed is survived by his son, Michael Trznadel and his wife Eileen Collamore of Chicopee; his two daughters, Susan Popp and her husband Jeffrey of Chicopee and Mary Lou Quinn and her husband Scott of Chicopee. He will be missed by his nine grandchildren, Jessica Popp; Elizabeth Wood and her husband Eric; Andrew Trznadel and his wife Kristin; Adam Popp and his wife Shelley; Steven Trznadel and his wife Natalia; Christine Colby and her husband Nate; Josh Quinn and Stephanie; Brayden Quinn and Griffin Quinn as well as her 9 great grandchildren, Gabby Wood; Gwen Trznadel; Victoria Cuello; Emily Trznadel; Jefferson Wood; Elena Trznadel; Peter Trznadel; Ava Trznadel and Elliot Colby. Ed also leaves several nieces, nephews and cousins and extended family members including his nephew, Wayne Zemrock. He was predeceased by his twin sisters, Jane Zemrock and Stefania Woytowicz. Life Celebration hours will be held on Sunday, November 20, 2016 from 2-5PM at Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St., Chicopee, MA 01013. His funeral will begin on Monday at 9:15AM from Brunelles concluding with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:30AM in St. Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan St., Chicopee.
