Claire Cassidy

April 17, 1937 - July 15, 2014

CHICOPEE-Claire M. (Fontaine) Cassidy, 77, passed away at Mercy Medical Center on July 15, 2014. Claire was born on April 17, 1937 to the late Louis and Mabel Fontaine in Springfield. Claire was a great mathematician and accountant for many years, and was the proud owner of her own bookkeeping company, ETC Bookkeeping. She loved her family very much and enjoyed family picnics and outings more than anything else. Claire was also a loyal NASCAR fan and watched nearly every race. She also enjoyed playing the piano, knitting, and other crafts. Claire�s favorite place to visit was the ocean, either in Florida or Rhode Island, and found it to be a calming and rejuvenating place. She was a gracious and generous woman and will be missed by many friends and family. She is survived by one son, Mitchell Colburn and his wife Weez; three daughters, Cyndy Rodrigues and her husband Tom, Caryn Lopez and her husband Tony, and Johanna Kasidi and her husband Eric; six grandchildren, Jason, Jeremy, Crystal, Caitlin, Gordon, and Cameron; and six great-grandchildren. Claire is also survived by two brothers, Ray Fontaine and his wife Jean, and Bob Fontaine; and a large extended family who loved her dearly. A private family celebration of Claire�s life will be held at a later date.
