CLAIRE A. ANTAYA 1920 - 2011 HOLYOKE � Claire A. Antaya, 91, passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2011 at Parkview Hospital after a brief illness. She was born in Holyoke on May 21, 1920 a daughter of the late Rene and Rhea (Betie) Boucher and was a graduate of Holyoke High School. Claire worked for many years at Strict Dress Shop in Holyoke and retired after completing over 30 years of service. Claire was an active communicant of Immaculate Conception Church and was a member of the Ladies Sodality. She also was active in Holyoke with the Golden Agers and the Senior Citizens Council. Claire was predeceased by her husband, Louis A. Antaya in 2008; her grandson Jayson Crochetiere in 2009 as well as two children, Louis E. Antaya and Rita Fontaine; and two sisters, Cecile Normandin and Doris Boucher who welcome her safely home. Claire is survived by a daughter, Marie Crochetiere and her husband George of Holyoke; a sister, Lorraine Aluxek of Holyoke; eight grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will held on Thursday, July 28, 2011 from 4-7 PM at Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St., Chicopee, MA 01013. The funeral ceremony will begin at 8:45 AM on Friday, July 29, 2011 from the funeral home and followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 AM in Immaculate Conception Church, 54 North Summer St., Holyoke, MA 01040. The burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, South Hadley.
