Albina E. Filip

SPRINGFIELD � Albina E. (Satkowski) Filip, 94, died Friday, April 22, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center. She was born in Holyoke on July 28, 1916 to the late Stanislaus and Amelia (Grycel) Satkowski. She attended schools in Holyoke and was a longtime parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Church in Chicopee. She retired from Steiger�s after over twenty years of service. Albina truly enjoyed spending time with her family whether it was a family vacation to the beach or simply staying home, as long as she was surrounded by her loved ones, she was happy. Albina was predeceased by her loving husband of fifty-nine years, Frank E. Filip in 2000. She leaves to cherish her memory, her two daughters, Michaeline M. Kelley of Brimfield and Janice M. O�Hara and her husband James of East Longmeadow; her sister, Helen Harrington of Holyoke; her three grandchildren, Filip and Kelley O�Hara and Mark Kelley; her two great-grandchildren, Brieanna O�Hara and Cameron Corcoran and her great - great grandson, Aidyn O�Hara. In addition to her parents and her husband, Albina was also predeceased by her brother, Henry; her two sisters, Stella and Janina and her grandson, Brant Kelley. There will be a Liturgy of Christian Burial on Friday, April 29, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Chicopee. Burial will follow the Liturgy in St. Stanislaus Cemetery in Chicopee. A calling hour will precede the Liturgy from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the Brunelle Funeral Home, 811 Chicopee St. Chicopee, MA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Albina�s memory to the Brant Kelley Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o East Longmeadow High School, 180 Maple St. East Longmeadow, MA 01028.
